Status: Phd researcher

Thomas Van Roey holds a master degree in history (2014, Ghent University) and a master degree in nationalism studies (2016, CEU Budapest).

He currently works as a PhD research fellow at the department of Sociology on the multi-disciplinary project “Procedural fairness in local approaches to multicultural conflicts”, involving researchers in the fields of human rights law and social psychology. His research focuses on the impact of socio-cultural and structural contextual variation on procedural fairness perceptions in local multicultural conflicts, and how this conditions collective outcomes of social identification and trust among ethnic-cultural, religious and linguistic minorities
